Wednesday, October 2, 2024 Carnival Corporation & plc, in collaboration with Jamaica’s Tourism Enhancement Fund, successfully hosted a sourcing readiness forum on September 23-24, 2024, at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in Kingston. This event reinforced Carnival Corporation’s dedication to strengthening its long-standing partnership with Jamaica while supporting the nation’s efforts to build stronger connections within the tourism sector and across various national industries. The forum gathered a wide array of local suppliers, carefully selected by the Tourism Linkages Network of the Tourism Enhancement Fund.

Participants ranged from small businesses and farmers to large-scale consolidators and distributors. These suppliers showcased a diverse selection of products appealing to Carnival Corporation, including frozen foods, agricultural goods, and authentic Jamaican culinary offerings such as sauces, seasonings, rums, chocolates, teas, and coffee. Additionally, artisanal items like handcrafted woodwork, jewelry, and candles were presented.

Javonté Anyabwelé, Vice President of Strategic Sourcing at Carnival Corporation, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the company’s sourcing requirements. He commented, “We are eager to explore the rich array of products Jamaica has to offer and are particularly interested in discovering uniquely and authentically Jamaican products that reflect the country’s value proposition as a cultural stalwart that will enhance our gue.
