Residents from The Belmont care home in Worcester attended a 'dance-a-thon' event earlier this month. The event, organised by Age UK, was held on August 1 at the Worcester County Cricket Club and raised funds for dementia support. It included attendees from all walks of life from the Worcester area and succeeded in catering to a variety of participants by providing different ways to participate.

Backdropped by the Worcester Cathedral, the dance-a-thon provided a memorable experience for all attendees. Five residents from The Belmont were present at the event, chaperoned by the home manager, Stephanie Howard, and wellbeing lead, Mark Owen. The day was an opportunity for the five residents to spend the day outside their care home, participating in the energetic atmosphere of the dance event.

Ms Howard said: "All the residents returned to The Belmont very happy, and the feedback was outstanding "They all said they had enjoyed themselves and that they look forward to the next event. "These events are brilliant for interaction within the community for our residents, and they get a lot of enjoyment and fulfilment from attending. "We look forward to offering our residents more opportunities like this in the future.

" Mr Owen said: "It was a wonderful morning out at the Age UK Dance-a-thon event. "Our residents really enjoyed it, especially seeing the different styles of dancing and giving them a go themselves, all while having the beautiful backdrop of Worcester Cathedral." One of th.
