A car used in the hit-and-run of a pregnant woman resulting in the death of her child has been found at an address in Bolton , police have revealed. Lancashire Police have made a seventh arrest after a driver crashed in to a pregnant woman walking along a pedestrian crossing on Station Road, in Bamber Bridge, shortly before 8pm on Sunday, September 29. The driver, who was travelling towards Preston in a dark grey Toyota Prius, did not stop at the scene and police were still trying to locate the vehicle on Wednesday, October 2.

However, police now say the vehicle has been found and recovered from an address in Bolton. Additionally, a 19-year-old man from Walton le Dale has been arrested and taken into custody. Sign up to our newsletters to get the latest stories sent straight to your inbox.

The victim, in her 30s, remains in hospital in critical condition. Pregnant at the time of the crash, police say the woman had emergency surgery for her baby boy to be delivered, but he sadly died in hospital. A 17-year-old girl from Lostock Hall, and a 40-year-old man from Blackburn who were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and attempting to pervert the course of justice have now been released pending further enquiries.

A 19-year-old man from Bolton remains in custody on suspicion of the same offences. Two boys aged 16 and 17 and a 53-year-old man, all from Bamber Bridge, earlier arrested in connection with the incident have been bailed while enquiries continue. Follow The Bo.
