Police officers seized a car yesterday after it parked on double yellow lines. The car, a silver Vauxhall Astra, was parked on Deane Road, "causing an obstruction". It had been parked for "several days" and had previously been issued parking tickets, so was seized by police.

A police spokesperson said: "The Rumworth and Hulton Neighbourhood Policing Team have been out with Bolton Councils Civil Enforcement Teams yesterday, August 19, following reports from residents of issues with vehicles causing obstruction to the highway and parking on double yellow lines. Seized Vauxhall Astra (Image: GMP) "Within a few minutes of heading out officers came across a vehicle parked on double yellow lines and causing an obstruction on Deane Road . "As the vehicle had been parked up for several days, had previously been issued parking tickets and officers unable to locate the owner the vehicle seized and removed from the highway.

"The team will continue to work in partnership with colleagues from Bolton Council and other agencies to tackle issues and concerns from our community."
