A prominent Welsh businessman 'deliberately' coughed in a disabled employee's face during the coronavirus pandemic. The former staff member has won a payout of more than £26,000 after an employment judge condemned the "gross behaviour" of car dealer and property tycoon Kevin Davies. David Kevin Lewis Davies — better known as Kevin Davies — owns Cawdor Cars, a dealership with six branches across Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire .

The business, which is based in Newcastle Emlyn, also operates a property rental section called Datblygau Davies Developments, where the employee worked as a property manager. Kevin Davies' property portfolio includes upmarket Welsh hotels and various housing developments. The ex-employee, who did not wish to be named, took Cawdor Cars and Mr Davies, 62, to a tribunal which found she had suffered discrimination related to her disability as well as constructive unfair dismissal.

She told WalesOnline her former boss' "horrendous" conduct in 2020 left her a "nervous wreck" and struggling to trust anyone, adding: "He knew of my medical condition. He knew I had no immune protection because of the medication I had to take, and he deliberately coughed in my face. I was shaking.

I'm not a silly, fluffy person — I've had to put up with a lot in my life — but it really got me." READ NEXT: Man tried to rob shop with imitation gun but broke down in tears DON'T MISS: Jay Slater key witness revealed to be former Cardiff drugs ring boss nicknamed 'Whispers' E.
