CAPPAMORE Show committee could have done with local firefighters to hose them down on the morning of last year's event as they were covered in mud. After torrential rainfall on the eve of the show, the committee made a touch and go decision at dawn to press ahead. The day turned out fine and their hard work getting the grounds ready was rewarded.

Organisers of the fun day for all the family called on firefighters to help them launch this year's show and they hope it will be the only showers this Saturday, August 17! The weather forecast for the weekend is very positive with Met Eireann saying “a good amount of dry weather with daytime temperatures reaching the mid to high teens generally”.
