MANKATO — You’ve got to try the diamond dust martini, and the outlaw express mocktail. Those drinks and others are created just for the Nov. 30 Mustache Bash, which is being held from 4 to 7 p.

m. at The Historic Post Office in Mankato. The event will feature a celebrity bartender challenge plus other activities to raise funds for the JZ Cancer Fund.

November is men’s health month, which is commemorated by men growing beards and mustaches to encourage regular checkups for early cancer detection. Now in its 10th year, the Mustache Bash will spotlight 11 celebrity bartenders, including Brooke Melius and Clinton Broviak of Exclusively Diamonds. They are the brains behind the diamond dust martini “because we are exclusively diamonds,” Melius said.

They will also wear fun costumes, and have a luxury item giveaway at their station. “We really believe it is a great cause and we love to do anything we can for our community,” Melius said. “We are going to look as much like a diamond as we can.

We’re going to have fun.” Dain Fisher was a member of the founding group of Mustache Bash 10 years ago. They threw a party at Pub 500 for friend Wes Schuck, who had been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer.

Schuck passed away but his memory lived on as the Mustache Bash became an annual affair. The Mustache Bash turned into an annual men’s health event, Fisher said. Now, he’s a celebrity bartender and back involved with the event after taking a few years off.
