“BYD’s presence in Kenya signifies our commitment to supporting the country and green transition and modernizing the transportation landscape,” Loxea Kenya MD Jennifer Kinyoe said at the event. Loxea, a branch of , launched BYD’s electric SUV (Atto 3), sedan (Seal), and hatch (Dolphin). The deal makes Loxea the sole distributor of BYD electric vehicles in Kenya.
BYD’s vehicles are available to lease or buy through its extensive network. Kenya aims to reduce its carbon emissions by 32% by 2030 and is also working to lower its reliance on oil imports, making EVs an integral part of its plans. For BYD, launching EVs in Kenya is another significant milestone as it expands into new global markets.
