BWH Hotels says it wants to team up with more hotels in key Northern cities after a record year for its UK arm. The organisation added a dozen new hotels to its portfolio over the year, adding 832 rooms with new hotels located from Eastbourne on the south coast to Sunderland in the North East. It also celebrated its first partnership with a long-stay location with joining the group.

Now its York-based UK arm is looking to partner with hoteliers in cities in the north of England. BWH bills itself as the largest collection of independent hotels in Great Britain. The company boasts hotels across more than 15 brands, varying from historic castles and coaching inns, Modern Best Western and luxury World hotels to affordable rooms.

BWH Hotels GB Brand director, Robert Alley said: “Given our incredible business growth in 2024, our ambitions for Northern city-centre locations in 2025 and beyond are challenging but definitely achievable.” He added: “We pride ourselves on delivering value to our partner hotels and is exactly why many choose to stay with us for decades.” Mr Alley said targeting northern cities was part of the hotel group’s ambitious growth plan to continue to achieve its vision of “Inspiring travel through unique experiences”.

He added: “There are still key cities in the North with city centre hotels which could genuinely benefit from joining forces with BWH Hotels and we look forward to welcoming more high quality independent hotels to our group.” Worl.
