Vadodara: A 40-year-old businessman allegedly killed his nine-year-old daughter by giving her lassi laced with poison and then took his own life by consuming it in the Bhayli area on Thursday night. The deceased, Chirag Brahmani, a native of Rajkot, had divorced his wife a few months ago. He left a detailed suicide note, but the police refused to reveal its details.
Brahmani lived in Florence Apartment. After the divorce , Brahmani moved to Vadodara with his daughter. On Thursday night, he sent a video to his father wherein he said that he was leaving forever.
He also mentioned in the video that he had written details in a diary about who was responsible for his drastic step. His father saw the video in the morning and rushed to Vadodara from Rajkot. The Taluka police reached the spot and broke into the flat.
They saw Brahmani and his daughter lying in one of the rooms while an empty glass of lassi was found near them. The police said that they are going through the notes in the diary left by Brahmani, who may have committed suicide due to problems in his business. Vadodara district superintendent of police (rural), Rohan Anand, said, "Brahmani has left a detailed note.
It may not have been written just before the suicide. The note mentions names of persons with whom he had business dealings. It may be one of the reasons for his extreme step.
