18 international projects have been selected as part of the Busan Story Market, which runs during the Busan International Film Festival . There are 10 projects from Taiwan, six from Japan and two from France. These selections join the 29 Korean IP selections for the Busan Story Market and 30 titles for the Asian Project Market, which all fall under the Asian Contents & Film Market umbrella.
This year’s edition of the Busan Story Market features French IPs selected by the Cultural Service of the Embassy of France in the Republic of Korea , which include one book and one web novel. Organizers said that this year marks the first time that French original IPs are showcased at the market, as previous editions primarily focused on introducing French film IPs for remakes. Five books, three web novels and two webtoons were submitted through the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) and selected by Korean judges.
These selections include titles from Kadokawa Taiwan Corporation, LINE Webtoon (Taiwan), Mirror Fiction Inc., Links Publishing, UDN.com Co.
, Sharp Point Media Group and 4U Films Co. From Japan, five books and one comic from six different companies were selected via the country’s Visual Industry Promotion Organization (VIPO). The Japanese IP selections include a story that fuses a sci-fi universe with vampires, a murder mystery involving a psychiatrist, and a time travel tale with a magical element.
The Busan Story Market will be held in Busan’s BEXCO Exhibition Hall 2.
