Go North West, one of the major Bee Network franchise operators, has been accreditation by the Real Living Wage Foundation, which it says reinforces its commitment to ensure all colleagues are paid fairly for the work they do. This means the company guarantees to offer, as a minimum, the only UK wage rate which is based on the actual cost of living. Entirely voluntary, it offers a higher, more realistic rate than the UK Government’s National Living Wage .

With key sites in Bolton and Wigan, the company’s 1000 colleagues operate some of the biggest Bee Network franchises on behalf of Transport for Greater Manchester, and this certification is further evidence of its dedication in supporting and valuing its greatest asset, its employees. Connor Lomas, head of people at Go North West , said: “We recognise the key role our employees play in serving and connecting the areas where we all live. We want to support our colleagues and these communities by fulfilling our responsibility as a major employer in Greater Manchester.

” Go North West has already achieved ‘supporter’ status for Greater Manchester's Good Employment Charter. This regional charter endorsed by Andy Burnham, The Mayor of Greater Manchester, aligns perfectly with the bus company’s values and is further testament to its focus on the wellbeing of its employees. Connor added: “By partnering with the real Living Wage Foundation we’re in great company as we join more than 15,000 accredited employers.
