BigHit Music is taking strict legal action against those sharing malicious posts regarding BTS for offenses including personal attacks, defamation, spread of false information, and ill-rooted criticism. They are pursuing a civil and criminal case against the YouTube channel Sojang after gathering strong shreds of evidence of violation of their artists’ rights through internal monitoring. It was in March when BTS V and Jungkook filed a lawsuit against operator A of the YouTube channel Sojang.

The idols reportedly seek 90 million KRW (approximately 2,47,188 AED) in damages and the first trial of the case is set for August 23 at the Seoul Western District Court’s Civil Division 12. Notably, this isn’t the first time that the notorious channel has fallen under the radar of the BTS agency. In an official press release, BigHit Music confirmed they litigated against Sojang for defamation and obstruction of business in 2022.

However, the investigative officials previously opted to suspend their investigation. BigHit continued to collect shreds of evidence against the channel and persistently requested the agency to reauthorize the investigation. BTS fandom is outpouring support to V and Jungkook on social media, demanding strict action to be taken against those who spread false lies about the idols.
