A 19-year-old BTech second year student died by suicide in the hostel room of GITAM University in Rudramma, Patancheru inspector Praveen said on Friday. The deceased, Varsha, was a native of Anantapur district. Police said that when her friends left for lunch, Varsha stayed back in the hostel room and died by suicide.
The friends noticed her upon their return and informed the police who called the police. The reason behind the suicide is yet to be known but police suspects the reason to be academic pressure. A 29-year-old woman died by suicide at a building on Friday, Miyapur police said.
The deceased was identified as Sai Sindhura, working as a software employee in a firm in Madhapur and a resident in Mayurinagar, Miyapur. Police said she had had arguments with her husband. A 56-year-old woman, Buchamma, allegedly died by suicide at her residence at about 6 pm on Friday, Kukatpally police said.
Inspector Muthu said the complaint was lodged by her husband and one of her daughters. Rumours swirled soon after that she was apprehensive that her house would be demolished. Responding, HYDRAA commissioner A.
V. Ranganath said the agency had not issued any notice to anyone with regard to demolitions. The deceased's daughters stayed near the Kukatpally lake but far from its full tank level.
