NEW DELHI: Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar has strongly condemned alleged foreign interference in India’s electoral process, calling it a “brutal assault on democracy” and urging a thorough investigation to expose those involved. Speaking at the Global Conference of Meditation Leaders at Bharat Mandapam, Dhankhar referenced recent revelations by US President Donald Trump regarding the allocation of USAID funds. Expressing his shock, Dhankhar said, "Recently, the revelation that occurred, I was stunned to see it.
What has been revealed by the President of the United States with full responsibility is that the democratic process of this country was sought to be modulated and manipulated. To dent and taint the purity of our election system." While he did not name specific entities, Dhankhar underscored the need to trace the origins of the funding and hold those responsible accountable.
"I am sure it emanates from a person in authority. One thing is right, because that is factual. The amount was given, and it is not a small amount.
We should adopt Chanakya's teachings, go to its roots. It should be destroyed from the root," he said. Calling it a matter of national duty, the Vice-President asserted that India must retaliate against such forces and ensure they are exposed.
