Bruce S. Fowler CASTLETON — Bruce Scott Fowler, 40, of Castleton died Saturday, August 3, 2024, at his residence. He was born on March 2, 1984, in Rutland, the son of Cynthia (Parker) Fowler and Theodore L Fowler Jr.

Bruce grew up in Castleton and graduated from Fair Haven High School in 2002 as well as the Marine Mechanics Institute of Florida in 2011. He was an incredibly talented, meticulous and inventive mechanic whose love for fixing things began as a very young boy. For the last several years he enjoyed owning his own small engine, marine, and automotive repair shop in Castleton.

He loved his many customers and enjoyed being of service to them. Bruce loved his family fiercely and could bring great laughter to any room with his surprisingly quick wit and amusing stories. He adored and enjoyed spending time with his dog Tessa, He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, and birdwatching with his mother and was a most excellent chef.

He was born with a green thumb and could grow the most amazing gardens. He loved Vermont and always marveled in the glory of our beautiful state. He was patriotic and had the greatest respect for those who have fought for and defended our country.

He had a great passion for smoking meats to perfection for his family and friends. He was a handsome, burly man with huge powerful hands and dancing blue eyes. Bruce was a kind and gentle giant who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
