British fans at the Paris Olympics have been enjoying watching their team stalking Australia on the Olympics medal table, with Team GB sitting just a couple of places below the powerful Aussies. So it's fitting the Brits' successful campaign is being plotted from the Pavillon d'Armenonville, a former hunting lodge built for French King Louis XIV in the northeast of Paris. This is what it's like.

No expense has been spared by Team GB. Guests have access to gourmet food, luxury balconies with lakeside views, big screen broadcasts of live events and daily visits from British sporting legends. Visitors to the Team GB camp include Princess Anne, an International Olympic Committee member and a former equestrian competitor at the Olympic Games.

During her visit, Princess Anne met former British rower Steve Redgrave, widely considered to be the greatest rower of all time, winning gold medals at five successive editions of the Olympic games. Other British sporting royalty to visit included former Olympic swimmer Rebecca Adlington, left, and former Olympic track cycling star Chris Hoy. But the Team GB headquarters is by no means exclusive.

Fans can follow the successes of their sporting heroes on big screens while letting their hair down..
