More info People often book holidays to get some much-needed relaxation. Sadly though, laying out in the sunshine and catching some rays isn't always as easy as it sounds. That's because there are sunbed bandits out there who are intent on reserving the best spot by the pool.

While some get up at the crack of dawn to throw their towels onto the recliners, others run and barge people out of the way in a bid to get a favourable spot. One mum has had enough of this – so she recently filmed sunbed wars in action. Claire Chivers, 43, recorded the moment a group of people rushed towards the loungers.

The clip was captured when Claire visited Benalmádena, Spain with her husband, John, 49, and their daughter, Freddie-Maie, eight. Shortly after they arrived, the family-of-three founds themselves caught in a battle to secure the best sunbeds around the pool. The quality control manager shared the hectic mission on TikTok, racking up 414,000 views and over 3,000 likes, with the caption: “Ready, steady, go”.

In the clip, taken on 13 July 2024, Claire films as a hoard of people rush toward the pool, throwing their towels on any seat available. Users have flocked to the comme.
