A poor pooch dubbed 'Britain's ugliest dog' is enjoying a new life in the spotlight after finding fame in Hollywood. The unusual-looking canine, Peggy, was cast by Ryan Reynolds in his third Deadpool movie, 'Deadpool & Wolverine', as Dogpool – the perfect sidekick to his Wade Wilson character. Several snaps of Peggy with her long tongue appearing out of the corner of her mouth – just as it did on set – were shared to Reddit, prompting proud Brits to congratulate her on her starring role.

According to the post in the CasualUK subreddit, WeRateDogs revealed Peggy was adopted by the Middleton family five years ago and was the "runt of her litter and the last to be chosen due to her looks". The hound foundation said of Peggy: "She's a Pug mixed with Chinese Crested. Despite having no previous acting experience, she proved to be a natural on set.

" Scores of Reddit uses took to the comments section to hail her performance. "Congratulations to Peggy for being the lead star in the film with the most successful opening weekend of the year," one user gushed. More than a week on from its realease, the film remains at the top of the US box office with $97M, becoming the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time.
