The review recommended the two northside suburbs be considered and, on Wednesday night, Labor promised to investigate an expansion of the Pineapple Street precinct. In a statement, Labor said a re-elected Miles government would also look to expand the existing Northside Indoor Sports Centre, which opened in 2020.
“Given the proximity of the Zillmere Rail Station, a re-elected Miles Labor government will also investigate opportunities for a Transport Oriented Development (TOD) which would create a vibrant, walkable precinct, incorporating transport, housing and mixed-use development,” the statement said.
