Prayagraj : To speed up the work of the railway overbridge being constructed in various localities of the city for smooth traffic during Maha Kumbh , UP State Bridge Corporation has decided to do permanent shuttering. To complete the work within the scheduled time frame, strong steel shuttering is being ordered from half-a-dozen factories in Haryana and Delhi. Also known as ‘sacrificial shuttering', these steel plates are put beneath the flyover, giving it added strength and also cutting down the time of removing the shuttering after the base is dried up.

These shuttering will be first used on Mazar Tiraha Railway overbridge (RoB), where the work of making a concrete road on the upper part of the railway crossing has started, and shuttering will be erected on the angle of two beams below it. Fifteen tonnes of shuttering will be used on each of the seven RoBs on which shuttering work is to be done. This would be installed between 60 to 70 metres of the railway track.

Shuttering will be done on the bridge by getting beams at both ends of the RoB. After shuttering, a concrete road will be built on the respective span of the bridge. Permanent shuttering will save time, and the bridges will be ready a month earlier.

Its speciality is also that the shuttering will shine at night. This methodology of permanent shuttering work will be done by Setu Nigam for all the RoBs. "The final phase of work in different RoBs is underway and by installing permanent shuttering, we will save time.
