Dublin collective Bricknasty have shared a groundbreaking new mixtape. Out now via cult tastemaker imprint FAMM, the new tape – titled ‘XONGZ አስቀያሚ ጡብ’ – features nine tracks, music that veers from dank hip-hop beats to soulful R&B via dextrous rap reflections. Guests include CLASH favourite Aby Coulibaly , the wonderful Oscar Jerome , and FM3iii , with Bricknasty acting as the centrifugal force.

Released a few moments ago, ‘XONGZ አስቀያሚ ጡብ’ highlights Bricknasty at their most lawless, groundbreaking, and independent. Tap in below. — Stripped from the tape, Bricknasty’s track ‘vinland’ comes back with a daring video from film maker Hugh Mulhern.

The group explain...

“The vinland video was an opportunity to experiment with stop motion animating raw meat and organic material. An American Werewolf in London, Sleepwalkers and Jan Švankmajer were key reference points. The design for the worm’s face was created by combining the actors face with the depiction of Satan in the Passion of the Christ with a volcano snail in AI to create a face that looked like sex organs.
