Brendan Courtney has opened up about hosting his own chat show, admitting he hated the experience. The Keys to My Life host presented The Brendan Courtney Show on Virgin Media, from 2005 to 2006. However, Brendan wasn’t too fond of the experience, opening up about the journey in a telling new interview.

‘I was in the wrong place at the wrong time, across the board. I actually hated that show,’ he confessed. ‘The Brendan Courtney Show at Howl At The Moon.

We gave a car away at every show. A car.’ ‘I absolutely hated doing that show because I wasn’t ready for it and my opinions weren’t fully formed,’ he said in an interview with the Irish Mirror.

‘I was living the high life in London, doing the fashion programme for BBC . They kept pushing me into doing comedy and I didn’t want to do comedy.’ Despite having a tough time, Brendan admits that is no longer the case when he takes to the airwaves.

‘When I’m on radio, I’m confident with how my voice sounds and what I’m saying but I wasn’t confident when I did that chat show. I wasn’t ready for it.’ ‘That’s probably why the whole experience was a bit of a nightmare, really, because I wasn’t in the zone.

’ Despite hating working on TV, Brendan admitted that he was more comfortable where we hear him now — filling in on RTÉ Radio One for hosts such as Oliver Callan , where he said that he’s more in the zone..
