A police dog was hit with a brick as a mob of violent thugs rioted outside the Tamworth . Police have now warned a full investigation would take place to find the person responsible for the 'abhorrent' attack at the Holiday Inn. Brave Vixen was trying to stop one of the yobs on Sunday, August 4, when she was struck with a brick.

She suffered a nasty gash above her right eye, which required medical treatment, and was now recovering at home. Staffordshire Police said Vixen was one of three dogs and six officers injured across Staffordshire this weekend. One man has already been charged with assault by beating of an emergency worker after an officer was assaulted in the disorder in Stoke-on-Trent on Saturday, August 3.
