The son of former boxing champion Chris Eubank thanked his family for their “unwavering and unfailing support” after he was cleared of rape. Joseph Eubank was found not guilty of two counts of raping a 16-year-old girl in a week-long trial at Lewes Crown Court. After the verdict the son of Chris Eubank Snr said the trial had been an “extremely difficult time for him and his family” and he was looking forward to “rebuilding his future”.

A statement from his solicitor, Shahid Choudhry, said: “Mr Joseph Eubank is hugely relieved that he has been found unanimously not guilty but the jury. “This has been an extremely difficult time for him and his family. “The allegation has been hanging over him for some two-and-a-half years and he wishes to express his gratitude m to the court for ensuring he received a fair trial.

“Joseph’s life has been at a standstill since he was an arrested and he can now move on to rebuild his future. “Joseph would like to thank his family for his unwavering and unfailing support throughout.” A jury unanimously found Eubank not guilty of raping a 16-year-old girl on Brighton Beach in July 2022 when he was 25.

Now 27, Mr Eubank showed no emotion as the jury delivered their verdict after four hours of deliberations. He was supported through the trial by his mother, Karron. Mr Eubank had told the court that sex on the beach after meeting the girl on the seafront had been consensual.

Judge Christine Laing KC warned Mr Eubank that he n.
