A tiny bakery that won over fans with its tasty homemade sandwiches and cakes has move to bigger premises - and in future the owners will be able to offer so much more. Boulangerie de Saigon, a Vietnamese café, opened in one of the avenues at Sneinton Market in April 2023. Sisters Aivi and Milly Nguyen became known for their signature bánh mì - the traditional Vietnamese sub-style sandwich - and delicious cakes.

Earlier this year the Sneinton cafe closed while the sisters ploughed all their time into revamping new premises in Nottingham city centre . Boulangerie de Saigon is now based in Low Pavement and is open for business with a limited menu at the moment. As well as the standard specialty coffees, teas and fruit juices, the cafe serves Vietnamese staples such as Vietnamese black drip coffee, or white with condensed milk.

Egg coffee, made with egg yolks, sugar and condensed milk, is also served. Matcha lovers will find a range of flavours such as blueberry, strawberry and white hot chocolate. Cakes, baked by Milly, are displayed at the counter.

Matcha Basque cheesecake, key lime meringue pie and Black Forest Yule log are among them plus a cranberry tart, topped with a beautifully iced holly wreath decoration Brunch and bánh mì will be served in the new year, once work on the kitchen is complete. To whet your appetite steak and eggs will be on the menu, served with onions, a toasted baguette and pork pate, or a veggie/vegan version with mushroom. Fancy something s.
