Forget “The Rachel Cut” or the “Farah Flip”, the stylish celebrity hairdo that has women marching down to the hairdressers is the “Emily Bob” inspired by Netflix’s sickly sweet hit series, Emily in Paris . Since the latest instalment of the show arrived on the streaming channel, hairdressers have reported the number of women requesting jaw-length, shiny bobs like Lily Collins, who plays the impeccably dressed Emily Cooper, have soared. A blunt cut with a centre parting that also can be tucked behind one ear, it’s different to the choppy-choppy, layered bob era of the noughties, and popularised by the likes of Jennifer Aniston.

At the start of the year, ultra-long, knicker-length hair sported by the likes of Kim Kardashian and Anya Taylor-Joy was in fashion. But after Collins unveiled her new ‘do’ at the premiere of Emily in Paris ’s latest season, women of all ages are saying farewell to their long tresses (or, in most celebrity cases, extensions). Brat summer is over — let bob autumn begin.
