Bolton Wanderers Football Club is stepping in to help young people struggling to settle into secondary school. Bolton Wanderers in the Community (BWitC) have launched an Alternative Provision service to help schools support Year Seven and Eight pupils who have been unable to successfully transition from primary to secondary school. The new sessions will start from January 2025 with BWitC Education leading the new 'exciting venture' Wanderers Goal Getters programme is an exciting new venture led by the BWitC Education team.
Wanderers Goal Getters is said to provide a new approach to Alternative Provision by taking a 'preventative approach to mentoring' and providing a safe environment within the schools themselves for pupils to develop healthy and respectful relationships with their school environment and their peers.
