A site manager at Bellway’s Royal Bowland Park development in Bolton , has been recognised with a prestigious national award for delivering high-quality work. Gavin Flannery, who hails from Westhoughton , bagged a Quality Award at the National House Building Council's (NHBC) annual Pride in the Job competition. He becomes one of 449 site managers from across the UK to receive such an honour this year.

Statistically, 10 per cent of the winners of this year's award are Bellway site managers. This accolade places Mr Flannery among an elite group within the industry, considering that he was selected from more than 8,000 site managers whose work sites have been inspected by the NHBC over the past year. As a winner, he is automatically enrolled into the next stage of the competition, namely the NHBC's Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards to be announced later this year.

The Pride in the Job awards, run by NHBC, are organised every year with all NHBC registered sites being auto-enrolled. The site managers are judged on varied qualitative aspects such as attention to detail, leadership, technical expertise, and health and safety. This isn't Mr Flannery’s first win though.

This is his 13th time bringing home the Pride in the Job award. Mr Flannery said: "It is amazing once again to have won this award. "It’s always a huge achievement, not only for myself, but also for each and every individual and contractor involved in the build at Royal Bowland Park.

"The Pride in the Job is.
