Day one of Bolton Food and Drink Festival served up a treat for all ages as thousands flocked to the town centre to enjoy one of the UK's best events. This year Storm Lilian delayed the start of the four day festival after high winds damaged stalls. But Saturday's turnout more than made up for the late start, and there was a distinct atmosphere with street entertainment , live music, dancing the outdoor bars and fun for all the family in Bolton's new town centre park.

Ainsley Harriot delighted visitors with three demonstrations, while foodies could enjoy demonstrations from regional chefs - something which will continue today.
