Josef Bogdanovich, CEO of Downsound Entertainment and Reggae Sumfest principal, has opined that the 2024 edition of the festival was one of the best stagings in its 31-year history. "This year, we went above and beyond," Bogdanovich said. "We focused on creating an unforgettable festival, and 2024 was blessed in so many ways.

Having Miss Lauryn Hill perform was a special treat for our fans -- keeping that a secret was a highlight for me. It exemplifies how good deeds are rewarded, and for that I am forever grateful." Bogdanovich expressed his pride in the festival's role in reinforcing Jamaica's reputation as the reggae and dancehall capital of the world.

He also acknowledged the immense challenge of orchestrating seven days of non-stop action, "but we did it with style". "I have never seen thousands of smiling faces at any festival in Jamaica. This was pure joy and good vibes," he said.

Bogdanovich revealed that plans are already under way to elevate the experience for the July 2025 staging. "Our first step is to review 2024 and continuously brainstorm on how we can raise the bar even higher. We just completed our first day of this review process, and we will keep pushing forward with our improvement plans.

It's crucial for us to fill our minds with affirmative action," he stated. Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett highlighted the festival's ability to attract thousands of visitors, and reaffirmed the Jamaica Tourist Board's continued support for Reggae Sumfest, emphasising it.
