Chandigarh: Two years after German luxury car manufacturer BMW denied reports that it was setting up a new plant in Punjab, an Indian company, Modern Automotives , which has got an order to deliver differential pinion shafts to BMW AG Munich, will soon set up its plant in Mandi Gobindgarh . On Thursday, a delegation of the company met chief minister Bhagwant Mann , who agreed to lay the foundation stone of the plant next month. He also assured support to the company for its future endeavours in the state.

The delegation of the Modern Automotives comprised of Aditya Goyal, Suhail Goyal and Manish Bagga. During the meeting, he was informed that for deliveries of differential pinion shafts to German luxury vehicles manufacturer BMW AG Munich, the company received an order for 2.5 million units valued at Rs 150 crore.

Mann posted on X: “Today, an important meeting was held with officials to discuss investing in BMW vehicle parts manufacturing in Punjab. It was decided to establish a BMW parts manufacturing plant in Mandi Gobindgarh, where hundreds of crores will be invested, creating thousands of jobs for the youth. They expressed appreciation for Punjab’s pro-investment policies.
