The unnamed British man was said to have lain undiscovered for "several hours" at the popular tourist beauty spot . Blood is said to have been found in and around the body, the Mirror reports here . The discovery comes hours after a body believed to of a missing British man was found more than a week after Spanish mountain rescue police were mobilised to help look for him.

Steven Michael B, 48, vanished in the northern Spanish village of Las Salas on July 11 after a row with his wife. On Sunday, it emerged a body had been discovered in the village church bell tower. Manuel Valbuena, mayor of the municipality of Cremenes which Las Salas is part of, told local press the dead man still had to be officially identified.

A neighbour is understood to have raised the alarm, although there was little indicating it was being treated as a crime. Police were expected to announce after an autopsy takes place they are not looking for anyone else .
