Prayagraj: Even as urban-based assembly segments of Sangam city – Allahabad North, Allahabad South, and Allahabad West – played a major role in making members under the Prayagraj district membership campaign of BJP, five out of nine assembly seats falling in trans Ganga and trans Yamuna performed poorly in the drive. These five assembly seats-- Koraon, Meja, Bara, Handia, and Pratappur-- have failed to cross the 10,000 mark of members. While Allahabad North has set a record of making the maximum (43,124) members, Pratappur assembly seat in trans Ganga registered the lowest (6,903).

The BJP district leadership on Monday released the chart of membership figures (assembly-wise). In three urban-based assembly seats under the Mahanagar category, Allahabad North, Allahabad South, and Allahabad West had made 43,124, 32,599, and 26,648 members respectively till Sept 19. Giving details of enrolment, trans Ganga regions five assembly seats saw Phulpur leading with 15,476 members followed by Phaphamau (13,584), Handia (7,891), Pratappur (6,903), and Soraon (11,175).

In trans Yamuna's four assembly seats-- Bara saw 9,194 members, Karchana (13,068), Koraon (8,268), and Meja (7,183). Interestingly, Allahabad City North Assembly of Prayagraj Mahanagar had topped the chart of making members for the party across 71 assembly seats falling under 16 districts of Kashi Prant .
