A nail salon described as 'Birmingham's best' by reviewers is set to close. Nails Bab on Hall Street in the Jewellery Quarter announced it would close on December 30 in a message to its 230,000-strong community on Instagram. The salon was opened four years ago by Rosie Lynall , whose quirky designs caught the attention of art lovers during lockdown.

Work created in the salon was shared in publications like Vogue, Cosmopolitan and Elle and reviewers called it 'Birmingham's best' in write-ups online. Earlier this year, singer Jorja Smith called on the Jewellery Quarter salon for a manicure when filming her latest music video. Rosie has reassured followers that she will be working from home part time and taking on new clients.

She said that the closure will allow her to 'focus on other projects'. In a post to customers, Rosie said: "This certainly has not been a straightforward decision, but I have decided to close the salon after the end of December (December 30 will be the final working day).

"The last four years have been a wild ride, have changed my life and expanding Nails Bab is without a doubt, the most challenging and best thing I've ever done. Opening during the pandemic was a huge risk but has certainly paid off. "There's been big big lols, tears.
