Pune: Former corporators , sitting MLAs, and aspirants across all political parties from the eight assembly constituencies in Pune have been busy in the last few days inspecting the electoral roll and registering the names of eligible citizens in the voters' list before Tuesday's deadline announced by the election authorities. The inspection is important as the assembly poll is expected in Oct-Nov. Many citizens could not find their names in the voters' list during the LS polls held in May.

Nitin Kadam, a political worker from Sahakarnagar area, said, "We have told maximum citizens and supporters to check their names and details. Tuesday is the last day. People should ensure that their names are on the list.

" Kadam and his team have been sending messages through social media platforms to citizens in their areas. Many former corporators have set up booths to guide people. “People approached us with complaints of missing names from the voters' list.

We have submitted applications to the authorities to make changes," a former corporator from Hadapsar said. Amol Balwadkar, former corporator from Balewadi, said that special camps have been held in the last couple of weeks across the constituency to assist people in checking their names and details in the voters' list. Many housing societies were roped in for the drive.
