The new series of Big Brother kicked off on ITV2 tonight, with a former butler to the King among the contestants. Nathan, 24, disclosed that he had served Charles before transitioning into a pork salesman and also had the opportunity to work with Queen Camilla. The show was launched by presenters AJ Odudu and Will Best, with Odudu declaring "if you still can’t believe Brat summer is officially over, then get ready for Big Brother autumn".

She revealed that the identities of the 16 housemates would be unveiled soon and the winner would bag a whopping £100,000. She also hinted at a "very important choice" the contestants would have to make during the launch show . The first contestant introduced was Rosie, a 29 year old dental worker who couldn't contain her excitement, exclaiming "I can’t believe I’m here" before stepping into the house.

In a clip shown before her entrance , she admitted: "People’s first impression of me is that I can sometimes come across as weird and annoying, and yeah, actually, that’s kind of accurate." She also confessed her love for tea, claiming to drink 20 cups a day and warning against anyone messing with her tea bags. Following Rosie was Emma, a 53 year old aesthetics practitioner who promised to "bring humour to the house and a little bit of sass".

She added: "Because I’m a lady of a certain age, having fun is home from work, bra off and spilling the tea." "I’ve had so many girls coming up to me, going, 'I used to think you were right.
