From the moment I step off the plane, the modern infrastructure wraps around me like a welcoming embrace.

Navigating the city sometimes requires a bit of patience and planning, like any bustling metropolis, but the effort is always worthwhile. In Dubai, the culture places huge emphasis on sensitivity and inclusivity. I’ve experienced countless moments where people go out of their way to offer help and are naturally more preemptive of my needs.

On arrival at the airport, as I was coming down the escalator to the immigration counter, the staff spotted me coming and opened the accessibility line barrier to wave me through. I was honestly amazed – I usually have to ask or explain why I need to use that line elsewhere. In the UAE, "People of Determination" is the official term for Disabled people.
