With the Northern Counties East Football League season at the halfway point - local team Beverley Town FC are looking forward to the future. The Beavers achieved promotion last season following a historic Play-Off Final against Shirebrook Town , and things have only looked up since for the club, which is also in the FA Cup for the first time in over a century . To meet the new division's regulations, the club has announced that it has submitted a planning application to improve Norwood.

As part of the stadium upgrade, a new covered stand at the Grove Park End of Norwood has been proposed to house up to 150 fans, upping the stadium's capacity to help cope with recent demand as the club continues its way up the football pyramid. Speaking to Hull Live, Richard Jagger, Club Development Officer for Beverley Town, said, "There's a lot going on at the minute. The planning application has gone in for the stand; that's part of the criteria we need to meet to stay in the league.

" Currently, the club has 56 covered seats but needs to provide 100 to remain in the league. The plans come with an estimated cost of 25-30k, and Richard adds that construction starts in the New Year. This application is the latest in a series of upgrades to Norwood.
