Another day, another manufacturing backtracking on their EV plans and now it is the legacy luxury car maker, Bentley which will focus its efforts on hybrids. It seems like the EV world is coming crashing down all of a sudden, sales growth is at an all time low and looks like people don’t want anymore of the all electric shenanigans and like their life simple. Bentley is the newest entrant to backtrack on their plans to turn all EV by the year 2030 and they will be focusing on hybrids.
Bentley in 2020 were all set to change their lineup to only hybrids and electric vehicles by the year 2026 and turn all electric by the year 2030. But the demand for electric vehicles have drastically decreased. Currently, Bentley is being handled by a Frank-Steffan Walliser, who is a 29-year old individual who was also responsible for the Porsche 918 Spyder hypercar.
EVs are definitely the future and Bentley will showcase its first all electric vehicle in 2026 with the launch happening in 2027. They do eventually want to convert into an all EV brand but currently they predict that going hybrid would be a better choice and a great middle ground for customers.
