1 2 Prayagraj: In efforts to make the Maha Kumbh-2025 the biggest religious and spiritual event , the state govt has taken up an extensive exercise to renovate the temples of Sangam City to add to their grandeur and divinity. Funds to the tune of Rs 209.35 lakh have been allocated for the city’s famous Lord Shri Beni Madhav temple .

The temple is being renovated by the tourism department. Pointedly, two big gates are also being built to regulate the crowd of devotees to offer prayers at the temple. The tourism officials claimed that the Nagar Devta temple will get a new look ahead of the grand religious event.

With the millions of devotees and pilgrims including foreigners expected to attend Maha Kumbh, most people believe that their wish of salvation and attainment of virtue cannot be fulfilled without offering prayers to Shri Beni Madhav, the city deity of Prayagraj. In view of a huge crowd of devotees arriving at the ancient temple located at Daraganj on the banks of the Ganga during the Kumbh next year, the Yogi govt has decided to renovate it. Regional tourism officer of Prayagraj Aparajita Singh said, “The tourism department is all set to renovate the ancient temple at a cost of Rs 209.
