Friday, November 8, 2024 Karnataka Tourism made a significant impression at the World Travel Market (WTM) London 2024, emphasizing the state’s rich heritage, diverse tourism offerings, and commitment to sustainable practices. The Karnataka Tourism Pavilion was inaugurated by His Excellency Mr. Vikram K.
Doraiswami, the High Commissioner of India to the United Kingdom, alongside Ms. Pravati Parida, Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha. This event underscored Karnataka’s growing stature as a preferred destination for international travelers, particularly those from the UK.
The pavilion garnered attention from various dignitaries, including Hon’ble Tourism Minister of India, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and Ms. Mugdha Sinha, Director General of the Ministry of Tourism, which highlighted the significance of Karnataka’s participation in this prestigious global event. The Karnataka delegation was led by Ms.
Salma Fahim, Secretary of Tourism for the Government of Karnataka, and included key officials such as Mr. Rajendra KV, Director of Tourism and Managing Director of Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC); Mr. Srinivas M, Chairman of KSTDC; Mr.
Sanjay Kumar Jain, CMD of IRCTC; Ms. Promila Gupta, Group Manager of IRCTC; Mr. Shyama Raju, President of FHRAI; Mr.
Shivaputra, Private Secretary to the Hon’ble Tourism Minister; Mr. Srinivas H Marangappanavar, Joint Commissioner of Karnataka Tourism; and Mr. Ratnakar HT, Advisor for Tourism & Hospitality at Jungle .
