In a social media post, it says those heading to the to airport should allow extra time for your journey. It's due to an overnight road closure on A2 carriageway at Tillysburn for maintenance works from the evening of Saturday, September 21, to the morning of Sunday, September 22.

The airport says to "follow the alternative routes which will be clearly signed on the approach to the works". "Diversion routes will be signposted and access to Belfast City Airport can be made via the local road network.

The Department asks road users to slow down when travelling in the vicinity of the works and abide by the temporary traffic management arrangements which are in place to ensure their own safety and the safety of our workers and contractors.
