SANTA ANA, California – Designers, including Behr Paint Company, are already looking ahead to 2025 for color trends for home decorating and renovation. Behr Paint Company revealed its 2025 Color of the Year choice on Aug. 21 .
Behr chose “Rumors,” a deep ruby red, as its color choice for 2025. The color is part of the company’s trend palette for next year in which the brand speculates that warm tones and cooler shades will be popular. The 2024 Color of the Year from Behr was “Cracked Pepper,” a versatile “soft black,” the company said in its description online.
This year’s trend palette featured “rich tones and illuminating neutrals to grounded hues and eye-catching accents.” According to a Behr press release “more than three-quarters (76%) of Americans would consider painting a room or wall a shade of red” while “about three-quarters (73%) believe that embracing the color red can add depth and character to living spaces and more than half (61%) agree bold red walls feel warm and captivating.” The brand said online that the color adds warmth and sophistication to the inside or outside of a home, and is capable of making a dynamic statement.
