The first properties at Vistry Group’s new housing development in Bideford – which will provide 550 homes for the community – have been released for sale. Vistry is building two, three, four and five bedroom properties at The Pastures off Clovelly Road, under its Bovis Homes and Linden Homes brands. The development will also feature three play parks, a multi-use games area, a football pitch, a sports changing facility, as well as areas of green open space.

26 per cent of the properties will be designated affordable housing, available for shared ownership or rent, and the homes will be energy efficient, with air source heat pumps installed in every house. As part of a Section 106 agreement - a legally binding contract with the developer - more than £3.16million will go towards early years and primary education, libraries, bus services, highways, pedestrian and cycle routes, additional education and allotments.

In addition, part of the site will be offered to Devon County Council for a potential new school. Emma Colin, regional managing director at Vistry Devon South West, said: “We’re excited to have released the first homes for sale in this beautiful part of North Devon and we’ve received a lot of interest already. “Work is progressing well, we started on site in November 2023 and we plan to launch the marketing suite and show home this winter.

The Pastures is going to be a fantastic new development of high quality homes for the local community and we’d encou.
