Watch the trailer for The Jetty Jenna Coleman has delighted viewers after returning to the small screen once again in BBC 's gripping new drama, The Jetty. The acclaimed actor, known for her roles in Doctor Who and Victoria, takes on the complex character of Detective Ember Manning in this four-part mystery thriller set to premiere on BBC One on Monday, July 15 at 9pm. However, the entire series has already been dropped on iPlayer ahead of its official broadcast, and it's quickly becoming a hit with crime drama aficionados who've eagerly jumped at the chance to meet the intriguing Detective Ember.

Described by Jenna as "prickly, stubborn, proud and free-willed," Ember is also depicted as "very warm and loyal." Viewers meet Ember amidst the aftermath of a devastating fire in a picturesque Lancashire lake town. As the story unfolds, Ember must unravel the links between a podcast journalist probing into a cold case of a missing person and an illicit relationship between a man in his twenties and two underage girls.

Jenna, who says Ember is "also really funny," praises writer Cat Jones for giving her character a sardonic and dry wit, coupled with an unimpressed demeanor. The Jetty will see Ember experience an awakening and self-discovery following the death of her husband, whom she had been with since a very young age, a year prior to the series' events, reports the Mirror .
