The 2024 Olympic Games kicked off on Friday with a grand opening ceremony, taking place on the River Seine - with some of Europe's greatest hits being played throughout. From Darude's Sandstorm to Gala's Freed from Desire, the most popular tunes to come from the continent were played as a cast of dancers showed off their best moves on a moving barge.

However, one particular song took British viewers by surprise, with many recognising it as the theme song to E4's Made in Chelsea . "Why they playing the Made in Chelsea song? #OpeningCeremony #ceremoniedouverture," one viewer wrote. Another said: "Not Made in Chelsea down the Seine! #Olympics #OpeningCeremony #Paris2024.
