Emotions ran high this Friday evening as a farmer broke down in tears after learning tragic news in Brian May 's documentary. The Queen legend delved into the causes of bovine TB in his BBC Two documentary aired this Friday, August 23, embarking on a years-long probe to demonstrate that badgers were not the culprits in spreading the disease and should not be culled. During the documentary, he visited Malcolm Huxtables' farm in Devon where cows were being skin tested for reactivity, an experience that had "a profound effect" on him.
Reactive cows are destined for slaughter, and when one of Malcolm's cows failed the test, he was visibly upset. Viewers were deeply moved by the scenes, with one penning on X, otherwise known as Twitter : "A hard and heart breaking watch, but thank you #BrianMay for this. #badgers #SaveMe.
That crying farmer finished me. Broken." Brian was also visibly affected as he comforted Malcolm and his cow, describing the skin test as "a recurring, potentially catastrophic event for dairy farmers.
" He added: "At the moment, the farmer is stuck with this horrendous regime every few months. His herd, his cattle, altogether they have to go through this little gate and be tested and have needles stuck in them. There's a feeling of tension in the farmers, which they pick up,", reports the Express .
Malcom, with tears in his eyes, expressed: "She is such a wonderful cow that I can lead her anywhere. She's been shown. She's won prizes.
