More info Strictly Come Dancing's Giovanni Pernice was put on pause after a shout from the crowd while on stage in Liverpool. The dance pro was joined by Anton Du Beke on stage as their new show, Together, hit the Floral Pavilion in Merseyside on Thursday evening. The duo awed the full house with a night packed with dazzling dance steps.

Breaking up the dance performances were chat skits that showcased the pair's chemistry, which bagged them a BBC travel show of their own. The dancers had the audience in stitches with comedy bits centred around Giovanni's strong Italian accent, reports the Liverpool Echo . Balancing the show to suit each city on the tour could be challenging, but these two toe-tapping gents did top-notch work bringing a Liverpool flavour to it.

Giovanni had a laugh claiming the borough of Wirral, rather than his native Sicily, stating the 33 year-old could even speak the "lingo". Giving his best Merseyside twang a go, Giovanni attempted some local phrases, boasting: "I'm telling you. I can carry on for the whole show like this.

" Despite announcing his non-participation in the upcoming Strictly season, the professional dancer endeared himself to the crowd with his attempt at the accent, leaving Anton stunned by the applause. H.
