Amy Dowden has told fans she is 'grateful' as she celebrated her birthday alongside her twin sister. The Strictly Come Dancing star was making up for lost time after this time last year she was suffering worrying setbacks in her cancer treatment. Amy underwent a mastectomy and chemotherapy after being diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2023.

She also contracted life-threatening sepsis while undergoing treatment before breaking her foot after ringing the bell to signal the end of her gruelling treatment. Ahead of her and Becky's 34th birthday on Saturday (August 10), Amy shared a picture of the pair alongside her Strictly co-star Carols Gu taken during a holiday earlier this year. Making up for last year's sepsis one alright! I can't wait Bex! Oh and also of course @GKX_Carlos is with us too as he's an adopted Dowden member now!" Amy has since returned to Instagram and on Sunday (August 11), shared details of her celebrations as she reflected on a rollercoaster past 12 months.
